`Ruyi` 25x30

There’s a word in Chinese—如意 (Rúyì)—that means “as you wish.”
This piece was created in the spirit of gentle hope and unfolding wishes.

Swirls of deep indigo, coral, and warm peach move fluidly across the canvas, capturing the sense of a wish taking shape—unexpected, organic, and quietly powerful. The surface is detailed with machine embroidery, adding delicate, meandering lines that echo the natural path of desire as it grows and changes.

I painted Ruyi in a moment of longing, trusting that sometimes the most beautiful outcomes arrive softly and just as you wish.
